Cecilly Hart
"It's a curse sometimes," admits multi-media artist Cecilly Hart about her constant state of creativity. "It really never ceases, which leaves me both completely amazed and equally exhausted." Born into a household where free-flowing imagination is the soup du jour, not a day goes by where she isn't inspired to "whip something up." Raised only minutes away from the Sundance Art Center, Cecilly's passion for art was intensified by her exposure to a parade of brilliant artists. Their broad range of skill and imagination opened the burgeoning artist's eyes, driving her devotion to her own work. At the end of the day, however, her favorite mentor is her mom, Paula Nelson-Hart. It was her mother's influence that showed her that there are no limits when it comes to art and encouraged her to ignore boundaries to create whatever she desired. Among Cecilly's current rotation of favorites are felting, beading, sewing, tie-dyeing and serious heat gun manipulation. If she can dream it, she can make it. And there's always a party when you're with Cecilly, who is happy to bring everyone along for the ride. The self-described "crafty minx" is currently designing, crafting and creating while attending school full time. She currently lives and studies close to her high altitude Utah home at Studio Arts at Brigham Young University.
